Do you want to improve your writing skills for work? Write a poem to your beloved or finish that family memoir? Or maybe you have considered writing a script? If so, come join us for this 6-week writer's workshop where we will explore a variety of writing genres. In this session, we will be taking some time to address the concepts of Time and Place in our stories, poems, and plays. More specifically, how do they impact the scenes that unfold and the images we create, in both our earliest, developing rough drafts and in our more polished, almost-final revisions?
From Flour to Flavor: Crafting Authentic Potstickers*
with Jeff Mao, Knead and Nosh
Learn the fundamentals of making Chinese dumplings at home. You will learn to make fresh scratch-made dough, and roll your own wrappers, and how to fold and pleat them using pork filling. We will then water-fry/steam the dumplings to create this restaurant favorite—pot sticker dumplings. Additionally, you will learn to make your own ginger-scallion oil and the instructor will talk about other common Chinese condiments used for dipping sauces. All ingredients, materials, equipment and recipes will be provided. Plant-based ground meat can be substituted for the pork upon request. Please email janderson@rsu18.org to let her know you are requesting this option. The dumpling wrappers do contain gluten. Limit 12 students.

Cell Phone Tech 101

Do you get tired of asking others to help you do simple tasks on your cell phone? Do people ask you to do basic tasks on your device but end up doing it for you? Registering for this class grants you a 45-minute, in-person, no judgement, 1-on-1 lesson to help you feel more at ease with your technology! In this 45 minute private lesson, we will review your device, help you feel confident with the basics, and work on any specifics that you'd like! Please choose the session (day) that works best for you. The instructor will contact you after registration to discuss the available time slots with you. Requirements: your device, a charger, a manual (if available).

Gentle Yoga via Zoom*
with Audrey McGee, Resilient Embodiment Yoga
This class will be a gentle yoga practice, performed at a slow pace, with forms that are adaptable to all body shapes and abilities. A strong emphasis will be placed on stretching, with some seated forms and low impact movements. We will practice some meditations, breath work, and relaxation techniques. A great class for beginners and all levels of yoga experience are welcome. Presented via Zoom, with a recording provided for up to a week if you need to be out. There will be class during school vacation on April 21.
