Mid-Maine Regional Adult Community Education

This ten-week course will provide the students with a symbolic platform for using the ancient astrological symbolism of the heavens in Tarot interpretation. At the same time, they will learn of Tarot’s archetypal symbols, described by psychologist Carl Jung as the residents of the Collective Unconscious. Using Astrology and the Archetypes together, they will be able to tap into ancient energies as well as trusting their own intuitive responses to the Tarot cards. The first two weeks will be spent describing these two approaches to Tarot interpretation. The third week will show how to combine these systems through a triad approach into a seamless whole. Through remaining seven weeks, we’ll address the seven triads of the Major Arcana, with the Astrological and Archetypal symbolism for each card. If a class needs to be cancelled due to storms, we will extend our classes to Dec. 11. There will be no class on Nov. 27 due to the holiday break. Limit 10 students.
