Basic American Sign Language Continued II W20

with Carol Sturtevant

Only 2 days left to register!

This class is a continuation of the Basic ASL class. Interested students are welcome to speak with the instructor to determine their level of readiness. Students with at least two semesters of ASL will be comfortable in the classroom setting. The use of ASL in the classroom will be practiced by students and demonstrated by the instructor throughout the semester. In this way, students will continue to develop conversational skills, using ASL entirely. Students will continue to develop the following aspects of ASL: grammar, vocabulary, fingerspelling techniques, expressive and receptive skills, and grammatical non-manual signals, in order to provide more competence in communication. A textbook, a workbook, and various DVDs will be used to offer a wide range of vocabulary and cultural aspects of the language. Materials and costs will be discussed at the first class session. Limit 10 students. Storm date of May 27.
