BLAST! Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training Program (the Second Edition) published by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is an important program for babysitters. It is exciting and interactive and provides training in pediatric first aid, household safety, and the fundamentals of childcare. We will cover the most current practices for safety and injury prevention, First Aid basics for emergency, quick references tools for babysitters, and a fun, easy-to-follow booklet. The program will prepare you to interview for a babysitting job, select safe and suitable games and activities, prevent accidents, perform first aid and CPR, and begin babysitting safely and competently. Designed for young people ages 12 and older who are interested in learning the skills for babysitting. A parent or guardian must accompany young people 12 to 17, but they do not need to pay/register. A $20 materials fee is payable to instructor at start of class - includes book and certificate. Please pre-register by Mar. 12. Limit 12 students.
