Qi Gong W17

$64

with Danielle Tognato

Jan 23, 2017 at 7:15 pm, runs for 8 weeks

Qi Gong is a gentle, therapeutic exercise that coordinates breathing techniques with each movement. It is both curative and preventive and it is based on the ancient system of acupuncture meridians. The purpose of these exercises is to prevent or dissolve blockages of energy, stimulate the circulation, and correct imbalances by bringing harmony to the energies of the internal organs in such a way as to protect the body from attack by external factors (viruses, cold, heat, humidity) as well as internal factors such as negative emotions. Qi Gong can be safely performed by any age group and physical ability/disability. Wear comfortable clothes and cotton shoes, or shoes without rubber or plastic, as these materials do not allow for the passage of negative ions. Limit 30 students.

Yoga Nidra W17

$64

with Beth Jones

Jan 17, 2017 at 7:15 pm, runs for 8 weeks

Taking a Yoga Nidra class means lying down on your yoga mat for the entire practice. Throughout this period of rest, you'll be guided to bring attention to your breath, to take breathing exercises to calm, and control the nervous system and then to focus the mind on areas in the body through a simple guided meditation. An ancient practice, Yoga Nidra is used to actively focus awareness on parts of the body in a definite sequence. By learning to cultivate an “attitude of witnessing” towards physical or mental experiences, a student may discover a profound healing and restoration of mind, body, and spirit. No class Feb. 21. Limit 25 students.  Make up snow dates of Tues., Feb. 21, Apr. 4, and Apr. 11 at 7:15 pm.
