Stained Glass*

In this class Beginner students will learn the step-by-step process of Tiffany’s copper foil stained glass design. You will complete a beautiful panel and participate in a field trip on Feb. 20 (during the second class and during school vacation) to the Stained Glass shop in Manchester. By the end of the class you will have gained the fundamental skills to continue a new and beautiful hobby. The kit is $120, and there will be other materials that you will need to purchase, such as glass, which costs about $40-50. For Intermediate students: You will work independently and under the teacher’s watchful eye as you advance your techniques. Lab fee for Intermediate students is $10 payable to the instructor at the start of the first class. If you have been thinking about learning Stained Glass or improving your skill this is your chance! There will be no class on March 20th due to Parent Teacher Conferences. Inclement weather makeup will be April 3 if needed. Limit 10 students.

Navigating the constant push and pull of America's consumer mindset is a struggle for many people. Credit cards, student debt, fast food, and constant advertisements all create for Americans a life that, most times, is unsustainable for the long-term. This course teaches practical steps to escape the noise of consumerism and set yourself up for a financially sustainable life. 

Session 1 = Pay off debt, building an emergency fund and creating a realistic budget. 

Session 2 = Begin investing towards retirement, shortcomings of Social Security, and strategies to protect you and your family from financial risk.

Session 3 =  Retirement distribution strategies, estate planning ideas, and tax planning during retirement.

UV Resin Jewelry

The class will cover safety protocols, basic design principles, and the use of embellishments like dried flowers, glitter, and pigments to personalize each piece. By the end of the session, participants will leave with several completed jewelry items and the skills to continue crafting on their own. Pottery: Make a Fun Mug — 2nd Session

Join us for this mug-making class and learn how to create a mug and affix a handle the first night.  On the second night, March 17, you will paint your mug.  You will be able to pick up your artwork at the Adult Ed Office at Messalonskee on or about March 31.  Materials fee is $30 cash or check to the instructor at the start of class to cover the cost of clay, glaze, and firing.  Storm dates may affect this schedule.  Limit 10 students.

Trip to Boston: Book of Mormon on Broadway

Join us for an unforgettable experience on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, as we embark on a day trip to Boston to see the musical comedy Book of Mormon for the 2:00 pm showing. We've pre-booked the tickets so that we have a great view of this performance.

The adventure begins with a convenient motorcoach bus pickup, offering two options: Waterville HS Back Parking Lot or the Gardiner 295 Rest Stop. Relax and enjoy the scenic journey as we make our way to the vibrant city of Boston.

Before the show, we'll make a stop at Quincy Market, where you can explore the diverse range of food vendors and choose your own delicious lunch. Take in the lively atmosphere and perhaps pick up some souvenirs before heading to the show.

We'll arrive to the Charles Playhouse to enjoy the immersive and entertaining performance of Book of Mormon. Be prepared for a unique blend of music, comedy, and plotline that will leave you in stitches.

Following the show, we'll visit High Street Place food court for you to grab a bite to eat allowing you to unwind and share your favorite moments from the show with fellow travelers.

As the day comes to a close around 6:00 pm, we'll board the motorcoach for a comfortable journey back to Maine, arriving in Gardiner at approx. 8:00 pm and Waterville at 8:30 pm.

The all-inclusive ticket price of $210 covers your admission to the Book of Mormon show, as well as round-trip bus fare for a hassle-free and enjoyable day.
