Calendar Mar 3, 2020 at 6 pm, runs for 8 weeks
This introductory guitar course is designed for beginners interested in learning how to play the guitar. We will cover guitar maintenance, string sizes, changing strings, choosing the proper guitar and care of the guitar. We will cover sight-reading, music theory, scales, and note values. We will also incorporate guitar processors and signal boxes - if you bring them, and learn how to set up amps. When you finish this course you should be able to pick up sheet music and know key, melody, chords, and changes. You will need to bring a guitar and the instructor will bring books, which you must purchase before the start of the first class - cost TBD - about $7. You will also need a 3-ring binder for your homework. The instructor welcomes students ages 10 and up. Parent or guardian must register and participate in the class with students under 17. Limit 10 students. No class Apr. 21. The class will decide as a group when we will make up any storm cancellations.

Introduction to Ballroom Dance W20

with Sam Bartlett

Calendar Mar 10, 2020 at 6 pm, runs for 8 weeks

Learn the basics of social dance in a fun and easy to learn format, even if you have two left feet! We will cover the most popular dances including Waltz, Swing, Tango, and more. Classes will cover patterns, musicality, partnership and other techniques to become comfortable and confident on the dance floor. Soft-soled shoes required. Singles or couples welcome. Limit 20 students.

"Soft Shoes" just means something flexible and comfortable to move in.  Clogs, for example, would not be a good choice. Sneakers, flats, oxfords or most shoes are fine. We also recommend you not wear heels, flip flops, or anything your foot might slide out of when walking backward.
