Children's Chorus

The Children’s Chorus is an ensemble open to singers between 7-13 years old*. Rehearsal instruction in Children's Chorus emphasizes healthy vocal technique for developing voices, musicianship, as well as notation and score-reading skills.

Participants typically sing in unison and 2-part repertoire in a variety of styles and languages, and perform two concerts per year.

*Participants in this class must have a parent or guardian remain on-site during their participant's lesson.

Composing & Arranging Music

In this class, learners will learn to generate musical ideas, create idea banks, conceptualize a piece of work, notate it in software or another form of documentation, and get a piece ready for performance. Learners should have access to a computer and have knowledge in another instrument. 

*Participants who are under 16 years old must have a parent or guardian remain on-site for the duration of the class. A separate registration and payment is only required for the parent/guardian if the adult will also be participants in the class.

Orff Ensemble

Broaden your musical knowledge with pitched mallet percussion instruments used in the Orff Ensemble including xylophones (soprano, alto, bass), metallophones (soprano, alto, bass), and glockenspiels (soprano and alto). Typical instruments used in the Orff class include castanets, maracas, woodblocks, triangles, tambourines, gongs, bongos, conga drums and hand drums. The class will also learn about how non-pitched percussion instruments are categorized into three families including wood, metal and skins.

Pineland Suzuki School: Book 1

In Pineland Suzuki Book 1, learners will begin memorizing pieces in order to enjoy various games playing together beautifully.

This class is best suited for participants of all ages who study violin, viola or cello and know at least “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” from memory through the end of Suzuki Book 1.

 

*Participants under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian remain on-site during the class. A separate registration and payment is only required if both the adult and child will be participants in the class.

Pineland Suzuki School: Books 2-4

In Pineland Suzuki Books 2-4, participants will dive into more advanced ensemble-building techniques, appropriate for age and level of each learner, in a playful and non-competitive environment. Memorization is encouraged for freedom and depth of experience, but music is allowed, if needed.

This class is best suited for learners of all ages who study violin, viola, and/or cello and know at least one piece of Suzuki Book 2 or above.

 

*Participants under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian remain on-site during the class. A separate registration and payment is only required if both the adult and child will be participants in the class.

Ear Training & Sight Singing

In this class, you will work with one of our instructors training your ear and your sight reading skills by using the solfege system (Do-Re-Mi ). This class is a perfect option for Middle and High School singers who aspire to be a stronger vocalists.

Introduction to Suzuki

Introduction to Suzuki - "Pre-Twinkle" is best suited for learners between 3-6 years old and their family member who will be their practice partners at home.No prior experience is required for this class.

Both the child and their family member will learn foundational techniques together, through rhythms and games, in a fun-loving and playful atmosphere. Classes will include follow-through games for learners to do at home with their practice partner.

Registration for this class covers one child and one family member. Family members can registered an additional child and receive a 50% discount if they are the practice partner for both children.

Recording and Mixing
