Better Living Module Series: 2. Coping With Stress W18

Free

with Alice Openshaw

Calendar Mar 20, 2018 at 1 pm, runs for 4 weeks

These modules work with students to address barriers that prevent them from going back to school or changing careers. This is a great choice for students who are not sure they can commit to a full-semester course. Each module will meet once a week for four sessions and is independent of the other modules. This allows students to take one or more of the modules over the course of the semester. Each completed module earns a high school diploma student one quarter elective credit. Community members are also welcome.

Qi Gong W18

$64

with Danielle Tognato

Calendar Mar 5, 2018 at 7:15 pm, runs for 8 weeks

Qi Gong is a gentle, therapeutic exercise that coordinates breathing techniques with each movement. It is both curative and preventive and it is based on the ancient system of acupuncture meridians. The purpose of these exercises is to prevent or dissolve blockages of energy, stimulate the circulation, and correct imbalances by bringing harmony to the energies of the internal organs in such a way as to protect the body from attack by external factors (viruses, cold, heat, humidity) as well as internal factors such as negative emotions. Qi Gong can be safely performed by any age group and physical ability/disability. Wear comfortable clothes and cotton shoes, or shoes without rubber or plastic, as these materials do not allow for the passage of negative ions. Limit 30 students. No class Apr. 16.
