Nature Journaling - MS

Awaken curiosityand explore your journey in nature through art and words. Usingcloth-bound journals and a variety of media and subjects, focusedon both the biological and artistic sides, you will create beauty asseen through your eyes. Found objects will be used for contourdrawing, cyanotypes, marbleizing, prints, sketches, poems, andother media. Please bring your own finds as well. Plan to ventureoutdoors for a portion of the time as weather permits, and wearcomfortable shoes! Ages 17+ are welcome. There will be a $20materials fee (cash or check only) due to the instructor at the startof the first class. Limit 10 students.

Understanding the Maine Death with Dignity Act [Online]

In September 2019, the Maine Death with Dignity law permits physicians to practice medical aid-in-dying under specific circumstances. However, over four years later, there is still a lot of misunderstanding and misinformation about Maine's compassionate end-of-life care option. Many providers and patients in Maine are still not familiar with Maine's Death with Dignity Act. Join Valerie Lovelace to get fact-based information and all the details you need to know about Maine's law, how to have the conversation with your physician, and how to qualify for the law or support your loved one who maybe qualifying. This is an online class that will meet via Zoom. Students will receive the meeting link to their email following registration.

Paint a Gnome for Fun! - MS

Come paint a gnome for your spring garden with Rosie's Artistry! This will be a fun-filled evening of laughter, smiles, and inspiration. Get out after a long winter and make new freinds -- being creative together is the goal of this very jolly class!

All materials will be provided. There will be a $25 materials fee (cash or check only) due to the instructor at the start of the class. Bring a friend!

Fix a Bike - MS

Join us for a bike maintenance workshop for Teens and Adults. Areyou curious about bicycle mechanics? Would you like to maintain your bike better, do repairs yourself, or get your bike ready for spring? Would you like to be better prepared to fix break downs when you are out on the road? Bring your bike and tool kit, if you have one. A parent or guardian must accompany students 13-16years. Please make a donation by cash or check if you are able to the Bicycle Coalition of Maine at the beginning of class cash or check or via their website www.bikemaine.org/donate. Rain date will be Thursday, May 16. When registering please mark this date on your calendar just in case it rains on May 8. Limit 18 students.

Pickleball for Beginners - MS

Have you tried Pickle Ball yet? It is fun, social, and an exercise sport that you can do for a lifetime. You will learn the forehand, back-hand, serve, volley, and overhead strokes in a fun and supportive environment. It’s fun for friends to join together, or join and make new friends! Bring a pickleball paddle if you have one. There will be a few to borrow during class time. Please wear proper footwear-- the instructor recommends court or tennis shoes and preferably pickleball shoes. There will be no class if it is raining or the court is wet. Rain makeup classes will be held the following Sunday 2:30PM - 4:00PM. There will be no class on Monday, May 27, but wewill hold class on Wednesday, May 29, as a make-up. Invite a friend to join you! Limit 8 students.

This class is for 3.0 to 3.5 Pickleball players who wish to become a smarter, more skillful doubles player and for those gearing up for tournament play. Please wear appropriate footwear -- the instructor recommends court or tennis shoes and preferably pickleball shoes. There will be no class if it is raining or if the court is wet. Alumni Harvest for Worm Composting Beginners Class

This class is for people who have attended the Worm Composting for Beginners class already. Jock will inspect your worm bins, demonstrate and assist with harvesting, and answer any questions. Additionally, Jock will bring harvest kits for alumni to use harvesting their own worm bins. Limit 10 students.

You will learn the steps involved in buying, how to set goals, and prepare for homeownership, explore loan products and credit, protect and grow your investment, and how to avoid being ripped off. A Homebuyers Education Certificate can help you access down payment assistance or mortgage products that require HUD-certified homebuyers education. It’s good for TWO years with most lenders! Register here at midmaine.maineadulted.org and the program will take you to the KVCAP registration site to finish the sign-up process—cost will be $30. Each person must register separately.
