This one-session workshop will help you decide if self-employment is the right choice for you.  The class covers the pros and cons of owning your own business, the steps needed for start-up, the major elements of a business plan, and the many resources available to help you succeed.  Please pre-register by Thursday, April 9.  Limit 20 students.

Substitute teaching in the public schools can be very rewarding as well as very challenging. In this workshop an experienced and well-respected local substitute teacher will share his knowledge and strategies with those who want to find success as a substitute teacher. Topics will include classroom and behavior management, the substitute survival pack, resources and expectations from local schools, helpful hints to keep any classroom on track, and information about staff conduct, affirmative action and harassment policies. Persons who successfully complete this two-hour workshop will receive a certificate that will be acknowledged by local schools as part of the application packet. Limit 10 students.
