Reiki Level I

In this class you will learn the foundations of Reiki; the history of it & how it works. You will learn tools to perform Reiki on yourself and others. You will have ample time in class to practice. It is expected that you will attend all four classes to receive a certificate.

A reconvened evening for the second session from the Beginners class. The worm bin is harvested and set up for another 3 to 4 month "harvest cycle".

Maine Driving Dynamics

with Maine Bureau of Highway Safety

Calendar Next available session starts Mar 25, 2025 at 6 pm

This five-hour program covers crash prevention for drivers of all ages and is cosponsored by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety. Those completing the course will receive a three-point reduction on their driver’s license. It is a 5 hour class split into two sections of 2.5 hours on Tuesday + Thursday. Participants must attend both classes to earn the certificate of completion and point reduction.

Culinary Herb Gardening*

We will discuss selecting, growing, and harvesting herbs both old and new varieties. The second night we will talk about using culinary herbs in cooking, and we will even get out the cooking pots and pans and make herbal butter, gremolata, and fried garlic. Join us and learn how to make your garden even more beautiful as well as useful with herbs and your kitchen more healthy and aromatic. Limit 10 students.

Dichroic or Fused Glass Jewelry Making*

In this class, you will choose between Dichroic Glass or Fused Glass Jewelry:

Dichroic Glass students will create a unique, beautiful jewelry set that reflects light by stacking metal oxides together.

Fused Glass students will place pieces of glass together to create two sets of pendants, pins, and earrings.

Dichroic Glass Students: There is a $95 materials fee, separate from the registration fee, due to the instructor in check or cash at the start of class.

Fused Glass Students: There is a $50 materials fee, separate from the registration fee, due to the instructor in check or cash at the start of class.

American Sign Language: Emergency Signs

This is an continuous / introductory American Sign Language course focused on Emergency Signs. Students will be introduced to emergency signs, as well as part of Deaf Culture.

Meditation using Breath, Mantra and Mudra

This meditation practice will be done sitting in chairs and use visualization, breathing, movement and sound to cultivate a meditative state. We will start with a mantra (affirmation) to center ourselves. This will be followed by breathing activities to invite the etheric forces. Then, we will do mediations using chanting mantras from various traditions. We will be using mudras ( hand positions) and simple asanas (body positions). Sessions will be facilitated by Burc Oral, Ph.D, an earth scientist, technologist, yoga practitioner, avid kayaker and a constellator.
