In this nine-week class participants will learn the fundamentals of computer programming using the Python language. This course is for the complete beginner or someone with slight exposure to programming. Mr. Greer brings a wealth of experience, having worked in IT since 2004. Students will need either a PC or Mac desktop or laptop computer (no Chromebooks) and a reliable internet connection. Class will be held during school vacation, Feb. 18. Limit 10 students.

Credit cards, student debt, fast food, and constant advertisements all create for Americans a life that, most times, is unsustainable for the long-term. This course teaches practical steps to escape the noise of consumerism and set yourself up for a financially sustainable life. 

Session 1 = Pay off debt, building an emergency fund and creating a realistic budget. 

Session 2 = Begin investing towards retirement, shortcomings of Social Security, and strategies to protect you and your family from financial risk.

Session 3 =  Retirement distribution strategies, estate planning ideas, and tax planning during retirement.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of artistry, inspiration, and connection with nature at the Wolf Paint Night. Beginners welcome and encouraged.

This five-hour program covers crash prevention for drivers of all ages and is cosponsored by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety. Those completing the course will receive a three-point reduction on their driver’s license. It is a 5 hour class split into two sections of 2.5 hours on Tuesday + Thursday. Participants must attend both classes to earn the certificate of completion and point reduction.

This class teaches you how to use worm composting to recycle your kitchen scraps into worm castings and sets you up with a worm bin with worms to take home. It also teaches you: The benefits of worm castings as soil amendment and how to use them; What to consider before you start; How to maintain a worm bin so the worms thrive; How to avoid (and correct if necessary) the common problems Each household (limit of 5 households but not limit on attendees from the household) goes home with their own worm bin with worms to maintain for 3 to 4 months. The class is reconvened for the second session in 3 to 4 months (5/22/25). The worm bin is harvested and set up for another 3 to 4 month "harvest cycle".

A properly planned estate strategy gives you control over how to provide for who or what you value most, both in a financial and personal sense, when you are no longer able to do it for yourself. In just a few hours you can learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment, and you won’t have to take private lessons to do it. This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along with your favorite songs right away. Registration fee includes the online book, online follow up lessons, a recording of the class and also an optional periodic question and answer session. Class is held online using zoom and is partly hands on instruction and partly lecture/demonstration. For ages 13+.
