Quilt Sampler for Beginners Messalonskee F22

Calendar Oct 19, 2022 at 6 pm, runs for 5 weeks

In this class we will make a four square sampler mini quilt. You can bring in fat quarters or use fabric scraps to make the 9" quilt blocks. We will make are the PinWheel (2 fabrics), the Triple Four Patch (3 fabrics), the Shoofly (4 fabrics), and Card Trick (5 fabrics). Your supply list will be sent via email when we have enough students for the class. Limit 8 students.

Wills and Trusts Messalonskee Oct. F22

Calendar Oct 19, 2022 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

Learn the difference between a Last Will and Testament and a Trust. Learn what a Last Will and Testament does that a Trust does not do, and what a Trust does that a Last Will and Testament cannot do. Also learn how to pass your assets outside of the probate process. Attorney Nale will be available after class to answer any questions as well. All fees are to help cover MMRACE’s expenses. Limit 15 students.

Print, Pattern, & Paper F22

Calendar Oct 20, 2022 at 5:30 pm, runs for 1 week

In this workshop we’ll explore gelatin printing, a low-tech, non-toxic, hand printing process. Artists of all ages will work small and fast to create a collection of colorful mono-prints layering color and pattern. Come with a sense of adventure and see what unfolds! All materials will be provided except that students must bring a package of dye, lotion, and aloe free baby wipes. Sign up with a friend and split a package of 100! A $10 materials fee must be paid to the instructor at the start of class. Children under the age of 13 are welcome to register with an adult. Limit 10 students.

Fall Watercolor: Corvids and Color! F22

Calendar Oct 22, 2022 at 10 am, runs for 1 week

Michelle, a Maine Master Naturalist, will answer spooky questions like, “Do crows have funerals?” while Desi will guide the watercolor creation! The final work will be an 11x17 depiction of a crow on a fence in the moonlight, with a pumpkin patch in the background. Immerse yourself in an informative study of the magic birds and nature! All supplies included. Please bring your lunch, as we will take a half hour break to eat. Limit 10 students.

Photoshop Messalonskee F22

Calendar Oct 25, 2022 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

Do you take good photos - but want to make them great? This class will cover everything from basic sharpening and saturation to more advanced editing - such as cloning and working with the curves of a photograph. You will need to bring your laptop, and have previously installed a trial version of Photoshop or purchase and install a full copy. Please have a variety of pictures on your computer, such as a person smiling, sky, people in various poses, landscapes, and over and under exposed photos. Reminder: There may be many different levels of learners and versions of Photoshop in the class. Limit 10 students.

Do you want to know what that old vase is worth? Did your kids leave comic books in your basement? Do you have boxes of old postcards, photos, papers? Or do you have items that no longer spark that joy and want to know if they may hold some value. Bring in your MANY items - old or new, antique or collectable for an evening of discussion and appraisals. Call your friends about this class, the more people with more things the more fun this class becomes. Unique holiday items might be fun to look at and appraise, so do bring them! (Items that may be too large to bring in, please bring detailed pictures and any information that is on them. Please join the Wait List, and we will call or email you when we have enough students for a class. There is a minimum of 10 students for this class. Limit 25 students.

Fresh Floral Design Oct. 26 F22

Join Robin at The Robin’s Nest to design a seasonal fresh floral arrangement. All materials are included in the cost of the class and you will design a beautiful fresh cut floral arrangement to keep, or to give as a gift. Come prepared to learn some basics or floral design and to have fun! Each week will be a different design, so sign up for all three! Limit 15 students.
