Instant Guitar for Hopelessly Busy People via Zoom F22

Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar but simply find it difficult to find the time? In just a few hours you can learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment, and you won’t have to take private lessons to do it. This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along with your favorite songs right away. Since this class is being held online with ZOOM, you will be able to sit at home with your guitar and take this class without any pressure. And since this course includes an online book and online follow up video lessons, you will be able to continue your practice and study on your own. An optional periodic online question and answer session is also included. A recording of the class is included as well. This course is partly lecture/demonstration and partly hands on instruction. We will cover topics of how chords work in a song, how to form the three main types of chords, how to tune your guitar, basic strumming patterns, how to buy a god guitar (things to avoid), and how to play along with simple tunes. Limit 15 students, ages 13+

Mixed Media Fabric Art Messalonskee F22

This unique art form will amaze you. In two sessions you will make wall art of paper, fabric, and acrylic for that room you just redecorated, a house warming or holiday gift, or even that spot in the breezeway or family room that just needs a NEW conversation piece. Bring fabric, quilting squares, scrapbooking paper, magazine pages, or other items from around the house. Other supplies will be provided. Pastels for All Levels F22

In this class we will explore the medium of pastels to create vibrant and luminous paintings. In addition to learning the techniques of painting in pastels, students will experiment with using expressive color in a variety of subject matter, with a concentration on landscapes. The principles of composition, design, value and color will be integrated in all sessions and the care and framing of pastel paintings will be explained. This is an introduction to reflexology. We will discuss how reflexology is used for wellness, healing, and how to use it for relaxation, sleep, and back and neck tension. You will learn about the reflex points in the hands and feet, and how they correspond to other parts of the body. Working the reflex points is a tool of self-healing and promotes wellness by increasing circulation and balancing the nervous system. As you learn about the reflex points we will practice techniques that can be used easily at any time. We have found that it is fun to join with a friend, but it is not a prerequisite. You will need a chair, towel, and moisturizer. Limit 20 students.

Hair Styles for Your Child Made Simple Messalonskee F22

Is your child ready for a new STYLE? In this class you will learn how to style your child’s hair beyond the ponytail? Bring your child for this one-night class on basic hairstyles and braiding techniques. Learn at least 10 easy ways to style your child’s hair with some fast track tips and tricks from a professional hairdresser. This will make styling their hair quick, easy, and fun for you both. All welcome (that means Dads too.) Materials fee $10 to the instructor at the start of class, which will include some styling tools and step-by-step handouts. Limit 10 parent/s & child teams.

Microsoft Excel 2013 F22

Do you manage large sets of numbers, names, dates, or other pieces of information? If so, then you need to create worksheets to manage, store, organize, and even analyze this information. Excel, Microsoft’s powerful spreadsheet software, is the most widely-used program to handle this task. This course focuses on the mastering the fundamentals of Excel. You will learn how to quickly and efficiently create fully formatted worksheets, learn common formulas and functions, sorting and analyzing data, and custom charts and graphs. You will also learn the compatibility with other MS Office Suite Products. Students will need to bring a thumb drive to class. Students who attend all sessions will receive a certificate of completion. Limit nine students.
