<p>This course is a continuation of the class held in the spring of 2017. All material from the spring semester will be reviewed before new material is added. New students are invited to join the class. It is designed to provide students with a general introduction to the Spanish language and will focus on the sound system, pronunciation, vocabulary related to everyday conversation, grammatical structures, and the culture of Hispanic people, all of which will be enhanced through computers, television, and movies that will be viewed during the semester. The focus of the class will be oral communication. A textbook will be used to supplement a wide range of vocabulary and cultural aspects of the language. Basic short stories with be read and discussed in Spanish.&nbsp; Both the students and the teacher will speak Spanish in the classroom from the first class. The amount of immersion in the language will increase throughout the semester, preparing the students to acquire basic skills in speaking, listening, reading, and simple writing. The class will also prepare students to continue their study of Spanish. This course is a great opportunity to enjoy learning a second language without the&nbsp; pressures of a traditional classroom setting.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
